Collaboration

The University Clinical Trials Support Center is a specialized Site Management Organization (SMO).

Together with clinical hospitals, we form a consortium offering a wide range of research opportunities in the following areas:

Oncology, Hematology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Vascular surgery, Transplantology, Gastroenterology, Metabolic diseases, Diabetology, Pediatrics, Neonatology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Gynecology, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology.

We contract and coordinate all research conducted at the clinical hospitals of Poznan University of Medical Sciences, starting from the study submission process. Outpatient clinical trials are conducted in a specialized center with dedicated clinics and full administrative and technical support. As one of the few centers operating in the public sector, we run early-phase centers, ensuring complete patient safety (centers in hospitals with access to the anesthesiology and intensive care unit).

Research at UCTSC

We conduct clinical trials based on our own outpatient clinic and the infrastructure of four clinical hospitals.

UCTSC Infrastructure

The Center for Clinical Trials Support is located in the immediate vicinity of the University Clinical Hospital in Poznań.

Patient comfort and convenience were our top priority when designing the space. The waiting area includes a relaxation zone with comfortable sofas, a TV, and patients waiting for their appointments can use a coffee machine or prepare tea. The Center for Clinical Research Support is divided into a medical section, where outpatient clinical trials are conducted, and an administrative section. The medical part of the Center consists of three medical offices and a medication administration room. Each office is equipped with a sphygmomanometer, a weight scale with a height measuring device, and a pulse oximeter. The offices also have refrigerators for storing medications, which are locked and centrally monitored for temperature. Our equipment includes ECG machines, pulse oximeters, medical scales, a defibrillator, centrifuges, including one with cooling capabilities, a deep freezer at -80 degrees Celsius, and refrigerators with freezers at -20 degrees Celsius. The medication administration room is equipped with four chemotherapy chairs and infusion pumps. The Center has storage rooms for materials used in the trials. We have a specially adapted room for medication preparation. Clinical trials with hospitalization are conducted in the clinical hospitals of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań.

Collaboration with Clinical Hospitals

Utilizing the potential within the structure, which includes the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań and four clinical hospitals for which it is the founding entity, namely:

  1. University Clinical Hospital in Poznań
  2. Gynecological-Obstetrics Clinical Hospital named after Heliodor Święcicki of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań
  3. Orthopedic-Rehabilitation Clinical Hospital named after Wiktor Dega of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań
  4. Clinical Hospital named after Karol Jonscher of the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań

we are capable of operating on a macroregional scale, and thus, we play at least the role of one of the leaders in co-creating the market for a modern approach to clinical trials in Poland, attracting sponsors on a global scale.
